dove evolution

Director Tim Piper, Ogilvy (concept, treatment and post production) and Yael Staav, Soft Citizen (live action). My thanks to Soho and Rogue (post production) for agreeing to do this film regardless of budget prior to awarding job. Same kudos to photographer Gabor Jurina and make up artist Diana Carreiro who agreed to make it with me for nothing if need. Thanks to my friend who agreed to be the model in the ad. Thanks to Yael for shooting the action off the back of ‘Daughters’ video. And thanks to Vapor music for the exhaustive music journey – (by Flashbulb in the end). Thanks to my creative partner, Mike Kirkland. Credits should have always included Ogilvy London’s Dennis Lewis and Malcolm Poynton for starting it, Mike Hemingway, Ogilvy NY and Ogilvy Toronto. Go Dove. Great brand. Great people.

@paulj0557 It’s because you have low self esteem and think an imperfect woman won’t leave/cheat. Perhaps you might benefit from a trip to a self esteem camp yourself?

I hope that at the self esteem camp they can get girls to realize that men see women totally different than women see themselves. We see perfection in imperfection. That’s how nature makes it and there is a reason for it. I can’t explain why I like crooked teeth on women, or why I think a woman looks more attractive if she’s about 20-30 pounds over what she thinks is her ideal weight. I think the media is not targeting your heart when they show photoshopchopped women, they want your soul.

@Boeing94 It is photoshopped, thats how they got her neck to be so long.

Ok, I know models need long necks and all that jazz, but its not her, it never will be, there isn’t any woman/girl whatever who looks like that. simple. but this is really good, it actualy shows the lies behind perfect cover girls. : )

@LadyBludgeon well yeah for them they can give this good message but the bottom line for them is still going to be making money and “beauty” or what they call beauty is what sells

oh and you’ve just decided that because she’s not photoshopped or wearing make-up she’s not beautiful in her own way? :/ what a sad, petty person you are

  17. myoneandonly89

    04. Apr, 2010

Yeah, this is sad. :/ Not gonna lie, I’m a girl, I wear makeup sometimes, a lot of girls do. The point is to enhance natural beauty. They could’ve just took that photo and stuck it right in a magazine and she’d look gorgeous, but then they had to Photoshop it… as if she wasn’t beautiful enough without making her look not human. The dark side of the Liquify tool, ladies and gentlemen! That model didn’t need Photoshop, and neither do we! :D

kinda funny but dove is owned by unilever.. unilever also owns axe. check out axe commercials and see how well they portray women lol

  25. LadyBludgeon

    05. Apr, 2010

@ steponme208, totally agree. I didn’t know they were owned by the same company as Axe. Anyways they both sell a lie. Everyone knows the real smell that attracts people is the natural phenomenons a person gives out. It’s also really bogus, because they’re hypocrites. They use photoshop for their own ads. Also you forgot that there are some people who don’t know that the images are altered. We know because we have the technology, but there are those who don’t, so they may benefit this ad more.
